Hundreds of thousands of girls and women in the Democratic Republic of Congo are raped, sexually tortured, and mutilated each year. They lose face, while their attackers walk free.
Reports this week said refugees were fleeing Enyele tribesmen who "had gone from house to house, pillaging, raping and killing mostly Munzaya civilians in Dongo and surrounding villages, which are now virtually empty."
Germanna students and faculty will lead a Democratic Republic of the Congo TEACH IN on Nov. 20 from 6 p.m.-7:30 p.m. at Sealy Auditorium on Germanna's Fredericksburg Campus in Spotsylvania. Donations accepted.
