Germanna Community College (GCC) Testing Services Centers provide a wide range of testing and proctoring services. The staff will make every effort to assist you; however, sometimes emergencies occur like power or server outages or inclement weather that closes the school and Testing Services without warning. Do not wait until the last minute to test, give yourself enough time so you will do well.

Academic Testing for Distance Education courses, Computer Competency testing, TEAS testing are offered at Locust Grove and Fredericksburg Area Campuses.

Hi-Tech testing which includes Pearson Vue and Certiport tests are available only at the Daniel Technology Center and Fredericksburg Area Campus.

The Career Readiness Certificate has scheduled days for testing at Locust Grove and Fredericksburg Area Campuses, and at the Daniel Technology Center.

Placement testing for English and Math are offered at Locust Grove and Fredericksburg Area Campuses, and special testing times at the Daniel Technology Center. Please visit our placement test web page.

Important Notes:

Picture ID:

In order to take any test you must present a current, valid picture ID (U.S. Photo ID or license from DMV, military ID, passport, or GCC Student ID).
  • Students are required to have a Germanna Community College current credit application.
  • Students need their Germanna Community College student id number to test.
  • The Testing Center will provide scratch paper if needed, no other paper may be used unless it is provided by your instructor.
  • All testing materials and scratch paper will be collected along with the exam.
  • You may not use E-books or any electronic devices (calculators included) that can access the Internet.
    • Before taking a test cell phones (as well as any electronic devices) are to be turned off and placed in the available storage area, or in the provided lockers along with your personal items. For security it is recommended belongings [cell phones, calculator, etc.] be locked in your vehicle.
  • Children are not permitted in the testing area; please make other arrangements before coming to test.

VCCS requires that all students read and be aware of the Student Acceptable Use Agreement if they use any of the computers at Germanna.
