6. Blackboard
When you register for a distance learning course, a Blackboard user's account with which to access your course information will be created. Be patient. It may take 24 to 48 hours to get your account set up after you have registered. If you are unable to access your course after 48 hours, contact your instructor.
LOOKING UP YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION
1. Open Internet Explorer (or other Internet browser)
2. Go to: My VCCS
- Click on LOOK UP YOUR USERNAME AND SET YOUR PASSWORD
- Enter your first name, last name, Date of birth (MMDDYY), and your Social Security Number.
- Click on 'Search'.
- You may be required to answer a security question. This is a question and answer that you created when you previously setup your password.
- Now you can create a new password and change your security question/answer if you would like
- Click on 'Submit'.
- Now you see your username, Student ID number (EmplID), and your email addre
INSTRUCTIONS FOR ONLINE CLASSES - BLACKBOARD
1. Go to: Learn VCCS OR access Blackboard through GCC Online at https://gcc.my.vccs.edu
2. Enter your username and password
3. Once you are logged in you will see a list in the middle of screen, this list contains all of the current classes you have access to
4. Clicking on the link for a class takes you into the area for that specific class
5. Broswer Settings: Go To: Blackboard Browser Settings
IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!!
::Do not share your username and password. Anyone with your username and password can access your course or e-mail accounts as you.
::If you cannot access your course within 24 hours of the start of the course or 48 hours after your late registration, contact your instructor and they will advise you what to do next.
