Customer Discovery


This workshop will build on the introduction to Lean Startup Methodologies. It will provide hands on practice and experimentation with techniques and technologies that aid in Customer Discovery.  Participants will learn the importance of Customer Discovery in determining product/market fit. In addition, how to take a great idea and test the market viability. This is done through learning how to identify customer segments, develop customer archetypes, develop the customer hypothesis, find customers, and test the buying process.  At the end of the workshop, participants will have the tools and experience necessary for developing strategies for getting, keeping, and growing customers.

Startup Weekend BootCamp

Get pitch ready and be in it to win it!  If you plan on participating in the upcoming Startup Weekend event at Germanna Community College on the weekend of September 26-28, 2014 or simply want to learn about LEAN Startup Methodologies, you will benefit by attending the Startup Weekend Bootcamp.  There will be two sessions separated by a one-hour lunch break.  Breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks will be provided at the event.  Please come prepared to learn, engage, and practice pitching your best idea!

Startup Weekend

Startup Weekend is a global grassroots movement of active and empowered entrepreneurs learning the basics of founding startups and launching successful. Our Startup Weekend event follows the standard model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams organically form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and then it’s a weekend frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation! The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback.

If you think your business could benefit from going or expanding online, learn how to harness the Internet to provide more value to new and existing customers. This workshop will survey proven e-business strategies to help you grow and optimize your business.

Lean Startup Methodologies


This workshop will introduce Lean Startup principles and methodologies. It will provide an overview of how to use Lean Startup practices to search for the business model to guarantee success. Participants will learn the basic philosophy of Lean Startup and the strategies needed to find and develop customers for your product. They will be taught how to gather, evaluate and use customer feedback to make their product, marketing and business model successful.
