The College may close or change operations based on inclement weather or emergencies. Sign up to receive text alerts directly from Germanna or tune in to local radio and television stations for up-to-date information about delays or closings.

After you sign up for text alerts, you must enter a four digit verification code that will be sent to your cell phone. For email notifications, you must click the verification link provided on the verification email you will receive. You will not receive notifications until these steps are complete.
Inclement Weather
Virginia’s weather can be unpredictable and may require the College to close or delay opening. If a delay announcement is made, that delay is based on 8 a.m. opening time. For example, a two hour delay means a 10 a.m. opening time.
The College uses the following radio and television stations to announce decisions regarding opening or closing, generally by 6 a.m. for day classes, and by 4 p.m. for evening classes.
