ACADEMIC COMPUTING CENTER
VCCS requires that all students read and be aware of the Student
Acceptable Use Agreement if they use any of the computers at Germanna.
Academic
Computing Centers (ACC) offer students a convenient and quiet open lab environment
to complete course assignments, review computer-based tutorials, access and
send email, and class registration assistance. Our Centers have friendly and
knowledgeable staff that will assist students with applying to GCC; class
registration; helps students find usernames and passwords, and assistance
with applications installed in the computer lab.
Printing is free, but
students are prohibitied from printing more than 15 pages at one time. To
save resources faculty are encouraged to tell students to email their documents
to them in lieu of printing them out.
Policies
- Students must Sign-In to use the ACC.
- Children are not allowed in the ACC.
- Food or drinks are not allowed in
the ACC.
- Cell phones must be on silent, and
student must leave room to use cell phone
- Academic work takes priority over using a computers
for any form of non-academic purpose. Please yield the work-station to
a student needing to do academic work.
- Students are not allowed to manipulate
the Windows Desktop or configurations.
- Students are can not save files to
the hard drive (C: or D:)
- You must provide your own (flash drive) USB drive for
saving your documents.
Resources:
- The ACC at the Locust Grove Area campus consists of
two rooms; room 204 and room 203 each with 20 computers and a printer.
- The ACC at the Fredericksburg Area campus consists
of one rooms; room 220 has 30 computers and a printer.
- The ACC at the Daniel Center for Advanced Technology
consists of one room; room 206 has 19 computers and a printer.
Regular Hours of Operations
Effective 8/21/10 FAC Room 220,
LGC Room 204 will be closed on Saturdays. Students who require computer
access from the Academic Computing Center will now go to the Library on
Saturdays during fall semester.
