The Center for Workforce & Community Education serves as the community’s resource for career advancement, professional development, personal enrichment, and community enrichment activities. The Center promotes workforce and community education through a comprehensive program of training and educational services and participation in economic development initiatives. The Center is a catalyst for economic growth and enhanced competitiveness within the Germanna service region.

The Center’s workforce services are designed to meet the needs of local business, government and industry, public schools, community partners, and individuals. Workforce development services include skills-related assessments including the Career Readiness Certificate, pre-employment training, customized training, open enrollment professional development classes, consulting services, on-line and hybrid course offerings, adult career coaching, and facility rental and events management.

Training programs and business services are scheduled to allow flexibility for the working adult. Classes that are offered as open enrollment and can also be customized to the individual needs of business and industry and offered on-site or on campus. New class offerings are added on a regular basis. Recognizing that the economic vitality of the region depends upon the ability of its workforce to respond to the ever-changing demands of global markets, Germanna Center for Workforce & Community Education offers training programs in the areas of Information Technology, Allied Healthcare, National Security, Small Business Technology, Business and Professional, Government Contracting, Industrial, Manufacturing, Apprenticeship, and Green-related Technology, among many others. Workforce programs are designed in partnership with the business community, and these constituents continue to assist in directing the programs to assure that skills and knowledge are upgraded continuously as new work patterns emerge. The Center for Workforce & Community Education also offers courses to prepare participants for a variety of career credentials. A sampling of certification preparation courses available include Certified Nurse Aide; Phlebotomy Technician; CompTIA A+®, Network+®, and Security+®, Server+, Storage+, Linux+ Cloud+; CISCO (CCNA)®, CISSP®, and Certified Internet Web Professional; Journeyman Electrician, and Journeyman Industrial Maintenance; CDL Truck Driver; and Microsoft®and Adobe® Certifications, among others.
