| Certified Professional Food Manager ---------- $129 |
| This one-day recertification course provides foodservice operators and managers with the information needed to minimize the risk of food-borne illnesses incidents in their facility. The class will focus on the top risk factors most often implicated in food-borne outbreaks and interventions and procedures the management can apply in the facility. The course will also address Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) risk assessment concepts, food-borne diseases, sources of contamination, personal hygiene and employee health policies, cleaning and sanitizing, pest control and many other aspects of food service sanitation. The nationally recognized Prometric "Certified Professional Food Manager" exam will be administered at the end of the class. There is a separate exam fee of $25. Students must bring a certified check or money order for $25, payable to "Prometrics" the day of the class. (No personal checks will be accepted.) You may request to take the exam in Spanish, Traditional Chinese, Korean or Vietnamese. These requests must be made at least 3 weeks prior to the class date. Also, you must bring 2 #2 pencils and a photo ID to the class. Exam certificates will be mailed to you by Prometrics within 2 weeks of the class. The text, "NEHA-Certified Professional Food Manager" is available at the campus bookstore. If you have never taken any type of food safety manager certification class, it is highly recommended that you purchase the book and read at least the first 4 chapters prior to attending the class. The class is delivered in English and the students should be able to understand spoken English and to read English. |
