Prerequisite: Knowledge of Windows operating system and basic word processing skills

Description: This is a hands-on introduction to Blackboard. Blackboard is a management program for putting teaching materials on the Internet. Please bring a flash drive containing either a handout or a course outline. These can be in either document format or HTML format. Faculty will get step-by-step instructions for putting course materials on the Internet. Here are some components you may choose to use:

• Personalizing the Blackboard environment
• Using editing tools
• Creating an announcement
• Creating an assignment with assignment manager
• Transferring files onto Blackboard
• Using the copy function
• Conducting online discussions
• Exporting, importing, and archiving a course and course content
• Making course available and user controls
• Withdrawing a student
• Reviewing the Performance Dashboard
• Review the steps and features of assessments
