This page is designed to help prospective students learn more about the dental hygiene program. Here you will find important notices regarding the program as well as important links.Steps For Applying To The Dental Hygiene Program1. Apply to Germanna Community College for general admission 2. Take the English and Math Placement Tests. Appointments for these tests are scheduled through Student Services. 3. Explore the dental hygiene website and watch the Program Information Presentation. 4. Register for all non DNH courses. Chances of being accepted are increased if you have taken most or all of the general education courses required for the degree. These courses are Health Science I and II, College Composition I, Lifetime Fitness and Wellness, Indtroduction to Psycology I, Topics in Health Care, History Elective, Physical Education Elective, and Intercultural Communication. If you are unsure about registering for courses or have any questions regarding the program you should schedule an appointment with an advisor in the dental hygiene department. 5. Applications to the dental hygiene program will be online in December. It is a self-directed application process. Please follow the instructions listed on the application website. Applications to the dental hygiene program for will be posted on this website in late November or early December. Please check it periodically. ATTENTION: As of April 1, 2008, the prerequisites for the Dental Hygiene Program are Natural Science I and II completed with a "B" or better, completion of English Composition (ENG 111) and Orientation to Allied Health (SDV 101) with a "C" or better.Contact Information
