Troubleshooting Tips

  • I am connected directly to the staff network:

    1. Verify that you are using Internet Explorer to access the site.

    2. Make sure your wireless is turned off – there is typically a button on the side of your laptop or near the keyboard to turn off wireless.

    3. Make sure your network cable is fully connected.

    4. Restart your computer and try again.

    5. If you still cannot connect, submit a Help Desk ticket.

  • I am connected to the student network in a classroom, lab, library or ACC:

    1. Verify that you are using Internet Explorer to access the site.

    2. When clicking on the link for Germanna Central, you will receive a popup asking for your username and password. You will use your full email username (for example, kmorton@germanna.edu) and your email password.

    3. This should get you into the site. If not, you will receive a popup box that asks again for your username and password, select the option to use a different account. Then follow the directions in step 2 above.

    4. Occasionally there are locations in Germanna Central that will ask for repeated logins when you are on the Student Network. If you continue to enter your username and password, you will get past this firewall.

    5. If you still cannot connect, submit a Help Desk ticket.

  • I am working remotely or connected to the Germanna Guest wireless using my personal computer or Germanna laptop

    1. Verify that you are using Internet Explorer to access the site.

    2. Make sure any pop-up blockers are turned off.

    3. When clicking on the link for Germanna Central, you will receive a popup asking for your username and password. You will use your full email username (for example, kmorton@germanna.edu) and your email password.

    4. This should get you into the site. If not, you will receive a popup box that asks again for your username and password, select the option to use a different account. Then follow the directions in step 3 above.

    5. If you still cannot connect, submit a Help Desk ticket. It is very difficult to troubleshoot connectivity issues when using a personal computer located off-site, but we will do our best to assist.


Germanna Central is fully compatible with the following systems:

Windows 7 and 8, Windows XP, Internet Explorer version 7, 8, 9 and 10, MS Office 2010, Outlook 2010, MS Office 2013

Germanna Central can be accessed using an iPad, Surface and other mobile devices, however, there may be some limitations in functionality. When using an iPad, use two fingers to scroll in Germanna Central.

While Germanna Central may work using other browsers and configurations, we can only provide support for those listed above.
