GED® Transcripts and Certificate Information:
After you take the GED Exam at our testing center at Germanna, you will automatically receive an official transcript of your test results in the mail. If you pass the GED, you will also receive an official certificate of high school equivalency from the Virginia Department of Education. Your certificate will be mailed to you separately from the transcript.
Effective July 1, 2006, the state of Virginia implemented a new GED scoring service, which enables the test taker to go on-line and view his / her test scores. The test taker will receive a personal access code, which will give the individual confidential and secure access to his / her scores. The test taker will also have the ability to print an official e-transcript of his / her scores. The e-transcript feature is in addition to the transcript, which will be mailed to you from our testing center.
If you lose or need a replacement transcript or certificate at a later date or if you need an official transcript sent directly to a college or employer, there is a form you will need to complete and mail to the Virginia Department of Education in Richmond, VA. You can access the form by clicking on one of the links below. After you complete the form, return it in the mail to the address listed on the form along with a check or money order. If you need additional information about this process, you may contact the GED Hotline at 1-877-37-MY-GED (1-877-376-9433).
