Document Delivery for Distance Learners

The Germanna libraries provide document delivery via UPS for distance learners. Distance learners are defined as students who are enrolled exclusively in on-line or off-campus classes and do not take any classes on any GCC campus.

Distance learners may request that the following be mailed directly to their homes:

  • circulating books owned by Germanna (use the Hold function in VCCSLinc or click here to complete and submit an intercampus loan request online).
  • books or articles requested through interlibrary loan (click here to complete and submit an interlibrary loan request online).
  • copies of journal or newspaper articles from the library collection that are not available in electronic format in Germanna's online databases (click here to complete and submit an article request form).

Items will be mailed with postage-paid return labels. It is the responsibility of the student to return items by the due date. Students will be billed for the replacement cost of unreturned items. In addition, any items or fees outstanding at the end of the class will result in the following:

  • official grades not being issued.
  • transcripts, certificates, diplomas, or degrees not being issued.
  • re-registration not being processed.
