How to request an interlibrary loan

The GCC library offers interlibrary loan of books and journal/magazine/newspaper articles not available in the Germanna libraries and required to fulfill the course related and research needs of Germanna students, faculty and staff. Community patrons will be referred to their local public library.

You may request interlibrary loan of books not available in the Germanna libraries and of journal articles not available electronically or in the libraries' print collections. Other types of resources, such as audio-visual material or dissertations, may not be available.

Interlibrary loan books will take from 5-10 days to be received in the library. Interlibrary loan journal articles will generally be received in the library within one week. Begin your research early.

You will be notified when an interlibrary loan item has been received.  Items will be held for two weeks.  If items are not used or checked out within two weeks, they will be returned to the lending library.

To request an interlibrary loan, see a library staff member for assistance or complete and submit an interlibrary loan form either in person or electronically here.

On-campus students must pick up interlibrary loans in person and may return the loan to any campus library. Distance learning students go here for more information.

All policies of the lending library apply. Please limit your interlibrary loan requests to five per day. The complete interlibrary loan policy is found here.
