Your library account

Request a library card:

• Bring your Germanna student ID card or another picture ID to any campus library and complete an application for a library card. We can place a library barcode on your student ID card. You must have a library barcode to check out books.

Use your library account:

• Go to the library home page at www.germanna.edu/library.
• Click on VCCSLinc, Germanna’s on-line catalog of books and other materials.
• You may sign in to your library account in VCCSLinc by clicking on “Sign In” in the blue banner at the top of the page. Use your MyGCC ID and password to sign in.
• You may view your library account by clicking on “My Account” after you have signed in.
• You may use your library account to
  • see what you have checked out.
  • renew books if the books are not overdue and have not been requested by another student. You may renew books one time.
• request that a hold be placed on a book. You will be notified when the book is available for your use.
• Remember to click on “Sign Out’ when you have finished.

Place a hold on an item:

When you find an item you would like to use, follow these steps to place a hold:

• Go to the full item record by clicking on the number of the record.
• Scroll down to the Holdings section of the record.
• Click on All Items to access the holdings record.
• Click on Request this item.
• If you have not already signed in to your library account, you will be prompted to do so.
• Complete the reuest form and click go.
