GERMANNA COMMUNITY COLLEGE
POLICY ON TAKING NON-CREDIT CLASSES
BY STUDENTS
BETWEEN THE AGES OF 16 YEARS AND 18 YEARS OF AGE
The Centers for Workforce and Community Education occasionally receive requests to enroll in non-credit classes from potential students or from parents of potential students who are less than 18 years of age.
Individuals who are between the ages of 16 and 18 years of age may enroll in non-credit classes designed for adults at Germanna Community College, provided that both the parent or guardian and the student sign a letter indicating (a) they both understand and acknowledge that the student will be in a class intended for adult students; (b) they both understand and acknowledge that any behavior that is not that of a responsible adult may result in the student’s being asked to leave the class and the campus.
Payment in full for tuition and any fees must be made at the time of registration.
The Centers for Workforce and Community Education retain the option of denying enrollment for students younger than 18 years in courses the College deems potentially hazardous, unsafe, or otherwise inappropriate for minors.
Minors are not eligible to enroll in non-credit classes that are also offered as credit classes (i.e., Cisco instruction).
Motorcycle safety classes are open to students who are at least 15 years 8 months old and who hold a learner’s driving license.
