Sherry Gravatt Biography
Sherry Gravatt, who is a Vice President at Union First Market Bank in Bowling Green, has served the community in banking since 1980. She has helped start and grow businesses and helped families buy homes, but her involvement in Caroline County goes beyond that.
The roles she has filled there ranges from being a staunch supporter of the Caroline County Little League to serving as an officer of that organization, being a former president of the Caroline Ruritan Club , serving on the Rappahannock United Way Day of Caring in Caroline County Committee to acting as volunteer choir director for St. Asaph’s Episcopal Church.
The North Carolina native’s roots in Caroline run deep. Her husband Will is owner of G&G Ace Hardware in Milford, her son Hunter an agriculture teacher at Caroline High School and her son Kent works in the family business.
“I believe community colleges serve many important roles in our society ,” Mrs. Gravatt says, “including as a low-cost stepping stone for students pursuing the traditional four-year academic route and as a major provider of vocational and workforce development--which is very important for the rural community of Caroline County I represent.”
She has a bachelor's degree from Westhampton College of the University of Richmond.
