The organization makes week long trips to a small village (Siete de Abril) in El Progreso, Honduras. Here they meet the needs of children and their families who do not have adequate housing, health care, or access to education. Over the years, SHH has built homes for these families in their new village of Villa Soleada (The Sunshine Village) and a school for children. In the years to come, SHH is making big plans to build a water tower, library, eco friendly waste management system and to install electricity in the new homes.
A major goal of Germanna's Chapter of SHH is to travel to Honduras in January of 2010. They have raised about $200 towards their trip so far. |
As all chapters do, SHH has big plans of their own. They recently had a bake sale that has helped publicize the organization and its goals. They are currently planning a clothing drive and a school supply drive for the children of Honduras.
SHH needs the participation and support of our fellow students to help achieve their meaningful goals. As a result they are always seeking caring and involved students to join their organization. If you would like to make a difference by contributing to SHH's cause, contact:
