Online Resources

The following websites are great reference tools and can provide valuable information to you. If there are any online resources that you think would benefit other faculty members, and they are not listed here, please contact Yanyan Yong to have them included here.

Atomic Learning -- A free website, to GCC employees and their families, that has hundreds of web based tutorials covering applications such as Blackboard, Microsoft Access, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word, just to name a few. All the tutorials are less then 3 minutes in length and are subject specific so that you get the information you need when you need it. If you are accessing Atomic Learning outside of Germanna please email for login information.

Merlot (Multimedia Educational Resource for Learning and Online Teaching) -- MERLOT is a free and open resource designed primarily for faculty and students of higher education. Links to online learning materials are collected here along with annotations such as peer reviews and assignments. The MERLOT community is made up of individual members and higher education, institutional, and corporate partners and affiliates dedicated to improving education. Individual MERLOT members support the community by contributing materials and adding assignments and comments to the MERLOT collection. MERLOT partners contribute infrastructure, guidance, and expertise.

Syllabus Creator -- The Syllabus Creator will guide you through the process of creating your course outline. Many of the policies that are required to be in your course outline are automatically filled in for you when using the Syllabus Creator. All you need to do is fill in the blanks.
