Application for Graduation
One application must be submitted for each degree/certificate you wish to receive. The College reserves the right to determine the appropriateness of awarding additional degrees in order to maintain the academic integrity of the College.
Complete the Online Application for Commencement by logging onto your MyGCC and clicking on Degree Progress/Graduation and then clicking Apply for Graduation.

Summer Term graduates are eligible to attend the May commencement ceremony prior to their actual graduation term.
Spring Term graduate commencement Honors will be taken from the prior Fall Term Cumulative GPA.
Fall Term graduate commencement Honors will be taken from the prior Spring Term Cumulative GPA.
- Review Commencement Dates
Germanna will hold two commencement ceremonies each year, one in May and one in December. All students who complete an associate, certificate, or career studies certificate will be eligible to attend the May or December ceremony.
- Get Proper Transcripts
Transcripts from other colleges must be on file in the Office of Admissions and Records as early as possible. Your eligibility for graduation may depend upon transfer credit from another college. It is your responsibility to make sure transcripts are on file.

From Interstate 95
Take Exit 130A (Route 3 East), and follow through five stoplights. At the sixth light, turn LEFT onto Business Route 3 (William Street), remaining in the LEFT lane. At the first light, turn LEFT onto College Avenue, and the campus will be on your right. Once on College Avenue, go straight through the first stoplight, and turn RIGHT at the second light (Route 1), Drive under the UMW Walkway and make an immediate RIGHT onto Alvey Drive. Visitor parking is located in the parking deck adjacent to the gyms.
From Route 1 North
Follow Route 1 to Fredericksburg and UMW campus. After driving under the UMW walkway across Route 1, make the next RIGHT onto Alvey Drive. Visitor parking is located in the parking deck adjacent to the gyms.
From Route 1 South
Follow Route 1 to Fredericksburg and UMW campus. Prior to driving under the UMW walkway across Route 1, make a LEFT onto Alvey Drive. Visitor parking is located in the parking deck adjacent to the gyms.
