Loan, grant and scholarship disbursements

Updated: September 6, 2018

Fall 2018 loan, grant, and scholarship disbursements will be processed beginning approximately October 8, 2018.  Refunds for most students will be received towards the end of October (depending on the day the award is processed by the Financial Aid Office and pending any delays). Once the refund is posted to your student account, it will be available within 6 to 8 business days if you have opted for refund to card or for direct deposit (ACH).

Refunds by check will be mailed within 14 days after the refund is posted to your student account.

During the refund process, when you go to your myGCC account to view your previously posted financial aid award(s) and they are not showing for the fall semester, that most likely means that financial aid is being processed. Once processed, any refund you are due will be direct deposited, applied to a re-loadable debit card or mailed to your address of record with GCC– based on the method that you setup for your account. The award(s) will again show on your account once Student Financials has finished their processes and the amount of the refund will also show.

Students taking only late starting classes (2nd 8-week, 3rd 4-week, and/or 4th 4-week) will have a notice on their To Do List about a delayed refund.

Refunds will then be processed every two weeks, beginning October 19, unless otherwise noted.

As always, be checking your student email account, Message Center, and To Do List for updates from the Financial Aid Office.
