Tuition Refunds

Refunds are processed based on payment method and student choice. Payments made through QuikPAY with a credit card are most often refunded back through QuikPAY to the original card used to make the payment. Payments made through QuikPAY with an e-check, by mail, or in-person as well as financial aid are processed in the manner that is selected by the student at germanna.afford.com.  

The refund options include direct deposit to a checking or saving account, and direct deposit to a prepaid debit card. If no choice is made, a refund in the form of a check to the student’s mailing address on file will be processed. To expedite your refund, select  a direct deposit option to eliminate mail time.

*Please ensure that your mailing address in SIS is current. You can update your address online through SIS or in person at the Welcome Center.

Electronic Financial Aid Disbursements and Refunds

Germanna Community College has contracted with Tuition Management Service (TMS) to process financial aid disbursements and certain tuition refunds to students electronically.

GCC is excited to provide students with the opportunity to select their preferred refund disbursement method and get their refund FAST with the GCC Visa Prepaid Educatecard (Re-loadable Debit Card). Students may choose to receive their refunds via Direct Deposit (ACH) into their bank account or pick the Visa prepaid debit card.

Students who select the re-loadable Visa prepaid debit card should retain the card for all future refunds.

Visit the Visa Prepaid Educatecard website to learn how to use the card without incurring fees, and other features of the card. Students are encouraged to use the card at retail stores which accept Visa prepaid debt cards and ATM’s within the AllPoint network.

At the start of each term, all new students and current students who are not already registered on the GCC Refund Disbursement Portal will receive an email inviting them to register and select one of the refund disbursement options listed below.

Even if you do not anticipate receiving a financial aid disbursement or tuition refund, setting up your refund disbursement preference is recommended.

You only need to setup your preference once for all future terms and you may change your preference at any time.

Checks will be mailed to the student’s US Postal mailing address as listed on their SIS account—allow 10 to 14 business days

After you see the refund posted on your SIS account for the check to arrive at your home.

* *Certain state grants and tuition refunds may take an additional 3 – 4 business days; a business day is considered to be Monday through Friday.
